Why is it important?
It is important that nurses and other health professionals are aware of the issues that impact on this core component of safe practice in relation to infection prevention control during the COVID -19 pandemic.
Perspectives
As a nursing academic, I see first hand the impact that insufficient supply of PPE has had on our nursing workforce. Government should place the safety of key NHS workers in response to COVID-19 to the fore and make every effort to ensure every healthcare worker has the necessary PPE at their disposal to deliver safe and effective care.
