What is it about?

Venous leg ulcers (VLUs) are wounds that persist on the leg or foot for longer than two weeks, are notoriously hard to heal, often reoccurring causing pain to the individual. The main treatment is via bandages which compress the wound and encourage healing. But despite this innovation, issues surrounding VLUs still persist. This review assesses the current research on an alternative treatment, velcro-compressible wraps in the hope of finding more cost effective treatment which maintains the compression needed for healing the wound and therefore offers patients a better quality of life.
