What is it about?

Elective angioplasty is a treatment that widens narrowed coronary arteries to relieve symptoms of chest pain. Patients having this planned treatment are only in hospital for a very short time. This means there is not much opportunity to provide education about healthy lifestyle changes and psychological support. To address this problem we developed a DVD, co-designed with service users and health professionals, which is sent to patients in advance of their treatment. It was evaluated positively by users.
