What is it about?

Nurses Knowledge and practice that built on evidence base-practice has vital impact on achieving optimal surgical wound management . We described the related aspects such as knowledge about sing and symptoms SSI and knowledge about wound healing, inflammation and infection. The study also described knowledge about factors that influence choice of wound dressing products and what make surgical wound dressing ideal. The highlight gabs in some practice components and wound assessment.

To address gabs in nurses knowledge and practice in surgical wound care and highlight the importance of developing standard protocols, and develop and design training programs.

Perspectives

Working on this article was a great pleasure and experience with the coauthors whose knowledge and exacting attention to detail that has been an inspiration and long standing. This article can be first step to providing insight about routine clinical practices of nurses in wound care management in Saudi Arabia.
