What is it about?
Feline primary gastric lymphoma, without intestinal involvement, is currently considered uncommon and is poorly characterised. Feline primary gastric lymphoma appears to be high-grade and may present with distinct marked gastric wall changes evident on abdominal palpation or ultrasound. Fine-needle aspirates of the gastric wall appear to be adequate for diagnosis in the majority of cases, similar to high-grade intestinal lymphoma.

Why is it important?
Although uncommon, veterinary surgeons in practice should be aware of this presentation in cats.
Perspectives
The optimum therapeutic approach is currently unknown but some cats with primary gastric lymphoma may experience long survival times for a high-grade lymphoma.
