What is it about?

The main issues here is to maintain a blood pressure which is enough to maintain an optimal blood flow within the organs to be donated.

Why is it important?

Blood carries all the nutrients and oxygen required to maintain healthy organs even after brain stem death.

Perspectives

This piece of work was written as I cared for an organ donor after the person was pronounced clinically dead. Clinical death involves rigorous testing of nerves activity from the brain (cranial nerves). Every year lots of people do not survive in the wait of an organ. So, keeping the organs healthy before retrieval is of major importance and requires professional decisions and quick implementation of a carefully thought plan.
