Why is it important?
Many companies are trying to reduce their environmental footprint. Transport mode decisions are often taken in isolation. In this paper we show that actually it makes sense to take the complete network into account, leading to much better results.
Perspectives
This work is really nice as it shows a portfolio effect: consider your complete network and get much more benefits than considering each leg one after the other.
