What is it about?

Why do some plants have attached R&D facilities? Previous literature had explored the benefits of collocating manufacturing and R&D from a product development perspective. This is the first paper to also show manufacturing benefits of collocation. The paper also shows that the benefits of collocation have not decreased with the advent of the internet and modern communication technologies.
