What is it about?
This study looks at how using nominalization (turning verbs into nouns) in Arabic translations of patient information leaflets (PILs) affects readability. It compares English PILs and their Arabic versions to see how often and in what ways nominalization is used.

Why is it important?
This research is important because it highlights how language choices, like nominalization, can impact the clarity and readability of patient information leaflets in Arabic. Improving PILs can help make medical information more accessible and understandable for everyday readers.
Perspectives
My mother's experience in using PILs in her old age inspired my research in this area. I hope this paper will contribute to making medical information clearer for people who may not be familiar with complex language.
