What is it about?

Europe PMC with the support of Elixir, has laid the foundation for an annotations infrastructure that facilitates literature-data integration with an aim to support various curation workflows. To ensure the infrastructure is indeed useful and meet the needs of curators, we have recently carried out: 1) Observational study to understand and identify common workflow patterns and practices. 2) Curator community survey to more specifically understand which entity types, sections of a paper and tools are of top priority.

Why is it important?

a) Identify actionable items from user research results to improve: text-mined annotation quality and coverage and other engineering solutions b) Reuse of text-mined annotations and other metadata in Europe PMC for article triage c) Explore customisation of triage/ranking system to suit different curation contexts
