Why is it important?

Jogging or running in a city may not have all the health benefits of doing the same excercise in a more rural environment Counts of white blood cells (neutrophils) and nitric oxide levels in exhaled breath increased in the urban group but did not change in the rural group. Indication inflammation. The change was correlated with the exposure to ultra fine particles (UFP) during training. In the rural control group, training also had a positive effect on some cognitive tests. There was no improvement in the urban group.
