What is it about?
Sunday Women Group is a Saudi civil society group that is one of the oldest in the country, established in 1994 in Riyadh. It represents one of the aspects of Saudi women activism in the country.

Why is it important?
It is the oldest female group of this genre, it shows how Saudi women act internally to change their status quo. A space of Saudi feminism can describe it as well.
Perspectives
The author is one of the main founders of the group and is an active person in calling for Saudi women rights. She is an academic and writer in the Saudi press. Writing this piece comes from a direct involvement with the experience of the Sunday Women Group or almultaqa al ahadi.
