Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) promises numerous promises to African countries. We discuss the role of human capital in free trade agreements, analyze the state of human capital in Africa, and provide recommendations to African countries.

Perspectives
It was a great pleasure to write this article with my host professor, Grietjie Verhoef, with whom I share a passion for Africa's developmental issues. We wholeheartedly believe that the true wealth of Africa resides in the continent's human capital.
