What is it about?

This work has been long superseded! Check out Litman (2005); Litman (2008); Litman (2010); Litman, Crowson & Kolinski (2010); Litman & Mussel (2013); and Lauriola et al (2015) for the latest details!

Why is it important?

The study that started it all -- but we've come a long way since this old paper -- I'd jump ahead to Litman & Mussel (2013) and Lauriola et al (2015) for the latest theory and research on epistemic (i.e., intellectual) curiosity.

Perspectives

This work was based on my graduate thesis and dissertation -- it's not especially new. We've moved waaaay far ahead in our understanding of intellectual curiosity. Read the most current theory and research FIRST (e.g., Lauriola et al, 2015) and work your way backwards.
