Automation of drill and blast design

What is it about?

The available techniques for drill and blast design in underground mining were analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of the widely used blast-hole patterns, types of cuts, and explosives are estimated. The algorithm and the program for automatic drill and blast design by optimization of spacing among blast-holes have been developed and tested. The calculations carried out for different cross-section forms have shown the advantages of the algorithm comparing to the available procedures for design.
