Why is it important?

Recently, water scarcity has been the major problem in the agricultural productivity increment in the face of climate change. But, the world population is increasing at an alarming rate but food production remains below the demand. Implementing producing more crops per drop concept could boost food and feeder production, and this can be achieved by applying deficit irrigation (improved irrigation water management). Thus, this paper contributes a lot to improved irrigation water management.

Perspectives

The world should focus on efficient agricultural water management unless food and feeder shortages become a future problem.
