Why is it important?

What could be more important than understanding the universe of all creation!?

Perspectives

A particularly interesting aspect of this application of statistics is, that depth information is very hard to obtain. So one always has to bear in mind how what one appears to see as a 2-D projection might play out in the enormous 3D (relativistic!) canvas of the whole universe.
