What is it about?

Shallow water flow (SWF) during drilling in the deep water of the Gulf of Mexico and some other parts of the world where Deltas are active. It is very costly and it cause a serious hazard to drilling crews. This study help drilling operators to avoid and combat this hazardous phenomenon,

Why is it important?

The calculations and algorithms of estimated the mud weight to establish the surface casing in the bore hole. It is important to safely put in place the surface casing to drill deeper looking for oil and gas.

Perspectives

Several trials were made to explain the cause of SWF, however each one is not justified by a hydrogeological base. I believe this endeavor is logic and it has the geological-geopressure- hydrodynamic bases.
