What is it about?
Advanced seismic mapping and imaging techniques are used to understand channel development in an submarine, buried channel.

Why is it important?
Understanding how a channel develops reveals clues to how sediments have been transported. Seismic data and interpretation advances are revealing new insights into how underwater channel systems evolve. This study additionally discusses interpretation methods that should be employed, and a discussion of advanced seismic analyses that prove useful.
Perspectives
This study stemmed from a class project by a student who was investigated various mapping and imaging techniques. It demonstrates the useful perspective that a new generation of seismic interpreters can provide.
