This article demonstrates how integrating seismic interpretation, seismic attribute analysis, and well-log petrophysical evaluation can improve understanding of the Meyal Oil Field, identify productive hydrocarbon reservoirs, and support more accurate exploration and drilling decisions in the Potwar Basin, Pakistan.

Why is it important?
This study is important because it helps geoscientists better locate and evaluate underground oil reservoirs in a structurally complex area. By combining seismic images with well-log measurements, it reduces exploration uncertainty, improves understanding of reservoir quality, identifies new drilling opportunities, and supports more informed decisions for future oil and gas development.
Perspectives
This research shows that combining seismic images with well-log measurements provides a clearer understanding of where oil is stored underground and how the reservoir is structured. Although the study is based on 2D seismic data, it establishes a strong foundation for future exploration by identifying new drilling opportunities and demonstrating an integrated workflow that can be expanded with 3D seismic surveys and additional well data to further improve exploration success.
