What is it about?

Part 1 of this paper detailed the model and provided validation of the model. Part 2 here shows the effect of different factors on predicted results and gives a route to systematic design and optimisation. Variables explored have included ore feed rate, percent solids in the feed, the rate of counter-current carbon movement, carbon loading, carbon stripping and activity, number, size and configuration of tanks, use of some leach-only tanks (CIP) and leaching and adsorption parameters.

Why is it important?

This model provides a practical tool to design, analyse or optimise a CIL/CIP plant. It uses only parameters which can be obtained directly from an operating plant.
