What is it about?

Various types of retractors have been used in cervical disc operations. The presented device is modified from previous cervical retractor which use our cervical operations routinely. The new product provide us easy practice during the surgery. The retractor consist of two blades which are screwed on the vertebral surfaces. It also provide distraction of disc level during the operation. This retractor have been used in over 100 cases and there has not been any complications involving the carotid artery, trachea and oesophagus.

Why is it important?

New design provides a significant surgical exposure area under the surgical microscope. When using this retractor, there is no need to use a vertebral spreader because the retractor itself can be used as a vertebral spreader and it is possible to carry out the Smith Robinson type fusion.
