What is it about?

Interdisciplinary study is increasingly popular for understanding and resolving wicked complex problems. Our ability to understand such problems is hampered by our theories (which, to be blunt, are not very good... yet). This article provides a clear and rigorous path to understanding and integrating theories within and between disciplines. This way, we can make better theories to better address our problems.

Why is it important?

Currently, work might be done in policy which ignores work in sociology or psychology. In short, have not had a highly effective way to combine those perspectives. This is an important article because it provides a clear and rigorous path for connecting people, theories, and understandings - a well-structured bridge. This new approach uses Integrative Propositional Analysis (IPA) which enables users to evaluate theories for their structural quality before they are put into practice.
