What is it about?
Environmental degradation of sachet drinking on the African continent, specifically at Labadi beach, Ghana’s largest sea resort is of much concern. The remains of these sachet bags block the drainage system, air pollution and water pollution. The study borrowed the constructs of the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) of Bandura (1986) which advocated for the interrelationships among behaviour, environment and personal factors.

Why is it important?
The study adopted the Social Cognitive Theory propounded in advance country and tested it in a developing, indicating there are some similarities among people in these continents. The result proved that consumer factors like age, income, education, and gender greatly influence ones behaviour which then affect the environment.
Perspectives
The outcome would assist policy making on environmental issues on the continent as well as opportunities to marketers and practitioners in the field.
