Why is it important?

All nursing education programs, as well as staff development initiatives, must include teaching, health literacy, and health promotion as integral parts of the curriculum. By improving teaching and learning knowledge, health literacy improves and subsequently, health improves.

It was a great pleasure and honor to be asked to comment of the article. Teaching and nursing are my two passions. Reviewing the article prompted me to add more emphasis on teaching, health literacy, and advocacy to my nursing courses. Thank you.
