What is it about?

Max Weber's works are more and more important in Chinese scholarship. This paper provide an overview of the reception and translation process that Weber was introduced, read, and theorized as an influential scholar, from a economic historian to a social theorist.

Why is it important?

I provide the list of translation, which indicate how Weber's works in English and German were translated into two Chinese scholar communities with traditional Chinese characters and simplified Chinese characters. Moreover, I analyze the three schools as examples to demonstrate how different ways of link Max Weber to Chinese Culture have their own sociological implications.
