What is it about?
The investigations of electro-active elastomer actuators on the mechanical properties and efficiency are not enough. Taking a strip-like actuator as a model case, this paper reveals the maximum deformation, the relationship between driving force and deformation, as well as the maximum efficiency to provide a basic guide line for the design of such actuators.
