What is it about?

This paper examines the impact of husbands’ migration on the lives of ‘left-behind’ women. The purpose of this research is to investigate how the ‘left-behind’ women turned around in the absence of their husbands and eventually how did they end up being empowered financially, socially and politically.

Why is it important?

Very little attention has been accorded to the left-behind women who are exposed to migration. This research looks into the fact that the women who are exposed to migration can turn themselves into a leader.

Perspectives

This is a unique work in migration studies. I am sure this offers a new perspective in the migration scholarship.
