What is it about?

The start as well as the finish of this paper owes a big 'thank-you' to Himadri Roy Chaudhuri, the editor of the special issue, who was persistent that the paper got done. He was helpful and diligent in the review and the copy-editing process. The concepts from French theorist Michel Foucault help to place the processes and consequences of marketization in a frame that deepens the political and social understanding of this phenomenon.
