What is it about?

Thousands of synthetic hazardous chemical substances used in cosmetics industry are potential health hazards in occupational environment of hairdressers. Phthalic acid esters are widely used as synthetic additives. Present study is aiming to investigate health problems of hairdressing apprentices in educational facilities associated to occupational phthalate exposure.

Why is it important?

The results highlight the main role of preventive efforts should focus on availability of adequate ventilation and use of personal protective equipment. Factors of occupational environment of hairdressing apprentices are affected by phthalates and resulted in negative outcomes in breathing mechanism and influence of body composition.
