To help wives who are victims of abuse from their husbands, it is important to go deep into their perceptions of violence. Their perceptions about violence may have been the reasons why these victim-wives were able to combat violence.

Perspectives

Wives' submission to husbands' cruelty may have been founded on how wives perceive violence. Most often, religious and sociocultural factors contributed to the proliferation of abuse despite the many legislations aimed at protecting women.
