What is it about?

It is time to consider Africa when it comes to investigate work outcomes such as job satisfaction, for instance. Considering empirical research dedicated to African public employees' job satisfaction undertaken so far could bring interesting information to academics who would like to identify similarities and dissimilarities when compared to other countries.

Why is it important?

Developing a better knowledge of public employees' job satisfaction could provide useful information in order to identify new research avenues. It brings also some useful insights for African practitioners who would like to develop new HRM practices so as to address job satisfaction challenges in public organizations.

Perspectives

This article is a first attempt to cover this topic (job satisfaction) in African public organizations through a systematic literature review. We hope that this article could contribute to help opening new research avenues, more specifically for African colleagues.
