What is it about?

I found that the average reliability for scorez on the Overexcitability Questionnaire-II was acceptable across all 5 subscales. This instrument is used to measure the "overexcitabilities," part of Dabrowski's Theory of Positive Disintegration. I think the theory is bunk ans has no practical or intellectual use.

Why is it important?

This is a good example of a reliability generalization, which is a meta-analysis of reliability coefficients. Generally, I found that the reliability of OEQII scores was acceptable, but a later study showed that the test has major validity problems.

Perspectives

I wrote this in grad school. Much to my chagrin, people have referenced it to justify using the OEQII.
