What is it about?

This is one of the first articles published about podcasting and seeks to make sense of the new medium. Although it argues that podcasting has new qualities it uses radio as a benchmark to make sense of the trends seen at this time. It also outlines the histories of the medium up to that point.

It explores how the medium can be understood when compared to other media forms and other some insight into how the medium wa sbeing approached by amateurs and corporate producers.
