Why is it important?

We conceptualise and explain how Flash Sales in tourism have developed since the early days of Groupon craze. We draw parallels with the business model elements of OTAs, the dominant e-distribution channel in hospitality and predict future development of both types of distribution channels.


The papers adds systematic understanding to flash sales in tourism and hospitality e-distribution discourse.
