Optimization of Multi-Objective Airport Gate Assignment Problem

Featured Image

Why is it important?

Air traffic volume will double by 2030. More trips will be made by people and will create more complexity in airport operations. Failure to optimize resources and increase airport capacity is a recipe for failure. Providing effective resource allocation (i.e. gate allocation) will improve the overall airports' revenue and passengers’ satisfaction.

Perspectives

This article considers GAP as a multi-objective problem and proposed a metaheuristic algorithm to come up with the best possible solution (gate allocations) in a reasonable amount of time.
