What is it about?
Ian G. Barbour was the DEAN of the new field, Theology and Science. Here I track the impact of his ground breaking book of 1966, "Issues in Science and Religion." Barbour's four models for relating science and theology--conflict, independence, dialogue, and integration--set the agenda for other scholars for half a century.

Why is it important?
There is no cult. However, Ian Barbour's book, "Issues in Science and Religion," provided a paradigm, so to speak, for an upgraded level of engagement between theology and science.
Perspectives
Here in Berkeley at the Francisco J. Ayala Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences, we remember and honor Ian Barbour and his legacy.
