What is it about?
The habenula is a small brain region important for reward processing and it has been implicated in many neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia (SCZD). This study used molecular profiling techniques to define spatially organized cell types in the human habenula and identify transcriptomic changes in individuals with SCZD compared to non-psychiatric controls, thereby providing novel molecular insights into the role of Hb in neuropsychiatric disorders.
