What is it about?

The authors discuss their contributions to the 2015 Balance-Unbalance conference goals, bringing together McMullen_Winkler’s Soybots artwork and Zuiker’s Connected Gardening partnership with a local Phoenix elementary school. This collaborative effort balanced art, plants and technology for alternative learning experiences about future natures.

Perspectives

Writing this article was the first opportunity for the authors from the the fields of new media art, sociology and education to collaborate. Similar to their own collaboration, the authors hope to inspire future collaborations between art, the science and technology fields that can already start in the kindergarten class rooom.
