Why is it important?
An important security application is to recognize whether a face image belongs to a large database. Also, image similarity is important for medical diagnosis and other applications.
Perspectives
This work also presents a measure for confidence in any approach for image similarity or recognition. This will be useful to test strength of existing and future measures.
