What is it about?

Stress is a serious health issue nowadays. Human Stress can be assessed by monitoring the activity of the brain. Electroencephalography (EEG) headsets are commercially available to monitor brain activity and therefore, can be used to assess stress with significant accuracy. Machine learning algorithms are employed to assess stress.

Why is it important?

This research highlights the feasibility of EEG headsets to assess stress. Also, it emphasizes the concept of automated classification of long-term stress using machine learning techniques.

Perspectives

This paper points to the direction of the assessment of the long term stress using EEG. It presents a non-invasive classification of human stress, which provides assistance to psychology expert on one hand for diagnosis of stress condition and reduces the stigma associated with mental illness on the other.
