What is it about?
Not all laboratories have the facilities to do intricate measurements to obtain and interpret parameters like ideality factor and dark saturation current in solar panels. This paper presents a relatively simple method using only standard multimeters to obtain these parameters.

Why is it important?
When characterising solar panels and their performance, it is important to know what the ideality factor and recombination losses are since current-voltage measurements under one light condition can be misleading.
Perspectives
My own perspective is that in all diagnostic or performance monitoring study, the quest should always be to extract parameters with reasonable ease without compromising on the quality and accuracy.
