What is it about?
There is an emerging class of technologies capable of inducing an altered state of consciousness. Using the PESTEL framework, we mapped out the implications of such technologies and the possible future trajectories of their development.

Why is it important?
Our paper introduced a novel perspective (Digitally Induced ALtered state of consciousness, in short: DIAL) for a multidisciplinary research agenda to prepare society for the safe implementation of these technologies.
Perspectives
This is a work-in-progress paper to introduce a novel perspective and inspire researchers from multiple fields to investigate this emerging phenomenon.
