What is it about?
We looked at the impact of introducing computer science students to the social justice implications of their curriculum. We found that while many students are sensitive to the way what they do (or program) can impact certain populations, they struggle to assess who is responsible for these risks and how to mitigate them.

Why is it important?
Computer science ethics education does not reflect the extent of growing awareness of social justice issues and the harms of data collection and algorithms. Our study reflects on how to influence the next generation of technology developers.
