What is it about?

We wanted to test the newly-developed Long-Term Conditions Questionnaire (LTCQ) in a broad sample of people with a one or more physical and/or mental health long-term conditions, to see whether the LTCQ measures 'living well with long-term conditions' in the way it was designed to.

Why is it important?

Many people are living with one or more long-term conditions and health and social care services can support people to minimise the impact the conditions have on their daily lives. Health and social care services in England are currently being integrated, so a measure of living well with long-term conditions for use across health and/or social care services, is needed.

Perspectives

This research is timely, as the number of people with two or more long-term conditions is rising. I hope that readers recognise the value in a measure that can be used across both health and social care, particularly as services become more closely aligned.
