What is it about?

A rare complication many years after laparoscopic mesh sacrohysteropexy is reported of a complete acute small bowel obstruction due to erosion of the mesh into the small bowel itself. This case is being presented in the light of recent concerns in the UK and world-wide about the complications of vaginal mesh surgery. The patient required emergency surgery to resect part of the small bowel in order to relieve the bowel obstruction caused by the mesh.
