Incommensurate structure of lazurite as a product of twinning of modulated domains

What is it about?

The incommensurately modulated structure of lazurite was solved within a pseudocubic unit cell based on a twin model consisting of three two-dimensionally modulated orthorhombic components related by a threefold axis along the [111] direction.

Why is it important?

The structure was refined with isotropic thermal parameters.
