What is it about?

The manuscript is about the whole genome seuqencing of an argentinian bovine isolate of Leptospira

Why is it important?

The importance of this work lies on that, this is the first genome of Leptospira interrogans serovar Pomona isolated from a bovine abortion in Argentina. Usually this serovar is manly present in pigs in other parts of the world but in our country is present mostly in bovines.

Perspectives

This publication constitutes the tip of the iceberg in Leptospira genomics in Argentina because the information generated here will allow us to understand the pathogenesis and virulence of this pathogen using our own genetic bakground that is of utmost importance when describing new diagnosis methods or for the generations of vaccines based on serovars circulating in a particular region.
