What is it about?
Three inhibitors were identified from a library of pharmacologically active compounds that are specific to dengue virus.

Why is it important?
The inhibitors target host-factors and not the virus, therefore, the chances of obtaining a resistant virus is minimal
Perspectives
The drugs that we identified are already in commercial use in humans and have gone through phases of clinical trials. Therefore, repurposing these drugs for dengue will involve a lot less effort as compared to a new drug.
