What is it about?
Currently, ball focused aiming seems to be the only method that coaches and practitioners teach irrespective of skill level. We provide insight into possible mechanisms for how target focused aiming might work as an equally effective alternative strategy for golfers' based on their preference.

Why is it important?
A consistent finding across all tests was that of an insignificant difference between conditions despite participants’ familiarity with the ball focused technique.
Perspectives
I hope this article makes golf coaches and practitioners think about alternative visual aiming methods and have them start to teach both the target and ball focused aiming methods. It also remains to be seen what would happen if beginners and experienced golfers committed to and were trained in target focused aiming.
